Kitchen has been done for months!  We absolutely love it and use it a lot...which means it always looks "lived in".  Finally snapped a few pictures of it all finished and cleaned.

We spend tons of time at the kitchen island - from the sink you have a great view of the backyard and side yard

Many people ask if we like the open shelves - we had them in our old kitchen as well.  I definitely like them.  I prefer things to be out where I can see them and use them regularly versus hidden away.  It forces us to only have the dishes we really like and use on a very regular basis.

The old brick wall against the shiny white tiles turned out really nice.

We preferred to keep all white appliances - since the stove is white, we kept our white fridge and dishwasher.  But pulled in some stainless steel on the front of the kitchen island and on the side of the stove (can notice it a little on the next photo)

New stairs that are AMAZING (some things you can only appreciate after having less)

I wanted a wall of windows looking out into the backyard...pretty close!

It was important to still have an 'entryway' area.  This corner is for coats, shoes, cat food, etc.  David built these blue cabinets himself - they turned out really great.  The tall one is the cleaning closet, great use of space.

Amazingly I don't think there's much we would change!  After thinking through it and studying kitchens for 5 years I feel like we created something we're very satisfied with (for now) ;)
